SHIBUMI presents INNER LANDSCAPES featuring artists Kirsten Muenster and Lisa Ziff.

Artists often create from their inner, magical world, guided by their curiosity and intuitive voice which becomes absorbed into their subconscious.

As we welcome the spring season, presenting two artists who reference the natural world only seemed appropriate. Both artists also work in 10k yellow gold; a unique and intentional choice. Kirsten's gold pieces often use a green patina embedded in the crevices giving them a slightly ancient feel. The specific alloy of 10k allows for her to play with the surface of the metal in a way that is only otherwise possible in bronze. Lisa Ziff approaches jewelry from a sculptor’s point of view. She uses 10k gold to create bold, chunky pieces at a perfect price point for everyday wear.

KIRSTEN MUENSTER's recent deep dive was inspired by articles and newly captured images of deep-sea creatures recently discovered by scientists exploring uncharted waters. Many of these previously unknown species they encountered were adorned with an array of bizarre and fanciful features including twinkling, bioluminescent organs, velvety skin and glassy fangs.

"For my tiny earring collection, I let my imagination play and came up with strange shell shapes and alterations that could exist deep in the water."

LISA ZIFF is a sculptor turned jeweler, whose work is inspired by clean lines and sensual forms, often referencing flora and fauna. April was first introduced to Lisa’s abstract sculptural vases over twenty five years ago. Since then, Lisa’s work as an artist has transitioned and evolved, but she has always stayed true to her aesthetic. Her bold, sensual forms can now be found in the striking, chain-linked bracelets and other wearable pieces featured in this newest body of work.

"I fall in love with a curve and let the vision unfold from there.”
