Our white metals include Platinum, Palladium, 18k and 14k Palladium White Gold and a special alloy we particularly like called X-1. Typically white golds are rhodium plated giving the metal a bright white look which needs maintenance because the plating wears off. We like to encourage our clients to explore the individual nature of the different metals to see what looks best with their skin tone. Traditionally, the use of Platinum and white metals comes from a desire to keep extraneous colors from reflecting into a perfect brilliant cut diamond. While this maybe important if the diamond is the focus of the ring, we feel that a more satisfying result will come from our individualized approach to matching you, your ring and the diamond.
